ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - As expected, AFT Local 420 St. Louis, the union representing educators and support personnel in St. Louis Public Schools are expressing no confidence in the leadership of Superintendent Millicent Borishade.
KMOX reported last week that this was the likely outcome after a petition was being circulated among union memebers,
Local 420 spokesman Byron Clemens tells K-M-O-X there were concerns about tornado damage and a lack of consultation with the employees in the district about re-configuring schools. "There was a release of a study calling for the closure of more than half of the St. Louis Public Schools. Our union, our members, were concerned that this was released just before the beginning of school. So they have put together a petition drive and we will be announcing the results today.
Clemens tells KMOX, more than 2/3rds of their members are extremely concerned about Superintendent Borshade's leadership.
Last week Clemens told KMOX they were very concerned with the audit which revealed that some practices under the previous leadership had carried over to Millicent Borishade's administration.
Today's meeting is at 2:00 at St. Louis Public Schools' headquarters. 801 N 11th Street.
