With the Gateway Arch reinstituting a mask mandate, the St. Louis City Health Director has some advice for staying healthy. Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis tells CBS the 'tripledemic' threat is very real.

"RSV has kind of started the change at least here in St. Louis. We're seeing historic cases, hospitals full," she said. "My husband who's a pediatrician in the ICU is just overwhelmed at work day in and day out because the ICUs are full"

Hlatshwayo Davis says the curve for influenza is going straight up and we have already surpassed the 2017-2018 peak.

"We have seen the highest numbers of flu in the past decade," she said.

Gateway Arch National Park's mask mandate is effective Tuesday, per the National Parks Service. St. Louis was identified as a high-risk level for the spread of coronavirus, according to the CDC. Visitors must wear well-fitting, high quality masks like an N95. Cloth masks will not be accepted.

Gateway Arch Foundation's executive director Ryan McClure joined KMOX to talk about the mask mandate, and the park's Winterfest that will continue on in spite of the viruses circulating. Hear more from his conversation on Total Information AM:
