BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOX) - A classic example of "seller beware" happened in St. Louis County this week as police say a very fake $100 was used to buy a gaming system.

The Ballwin Police Department shared a photo of the bill on Facebook, saying it's investigating the theft. They say some was selling a gaming system through a popular social media app for $200. After accepting the fake cash and going on their way, they eventually noticed something wasn't right.

The "cash" was made of a thin paper unlike real U.S. currency and Ben Franklin was wearing sunglasses.

The story came up in the Department's weekly roundup post, which also included a catalytic converter stolen from a car dealership, a report of a stolen rental truck and a warning by police to not let your bunny rabbit run freely when owls are nearby.
