One of the four finalists seeking to become the next police chief in St. Louis has removed his name from consideration.
WIS News in South Carolina has reported that Columbia South Carolina deputy police chief Melron Kelly consulted with family and trusted advisors to reach the decision.
Kelly is quoted as saying, "It was a privilege and excellent learning experience — but the time is not right."
That leaves three finalists now: Interim chief Michael Sack; Wilmington, Delaware police chief Robert Tracy; and former Norfolk, Virginia police chief Larry Boone.
