ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police are seeking charges against a relative in the death of a 12-year-old boy who was accidentally shot and killed Tuesday by his 10-year-old brother in north St. Louis.

Investigators are asking Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner's office to charge the 36-year-old woman with endangering the welfare of a child, resulting in death.

Investigators say the ten-year-old was handling a firearm in a home on Summit Place when it discharged. Lafrance Johnson died on the scene.

Police say the woman told officers it's her gun.
