Councilman accuses St. Louis County Exec of stalling on 'moonlighting' info

SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - St. Louis County voters consider a proposed charter amendment on the April 5th ballot that would ban the County Executive from holding an outside job. But voters aren't being told yet how many hours Sam Page works on the side as a doctor.

Councilman Tim Fitch says two Republicans and and two Democrats voted for the subpoena to reveal Page's outside work hours. "Why is it important? Because people believe and they pay 140,000 dollar salary to the County Executive to have a full-time County Executive. And they deserve, the public deserves, to know if they have a full-time or a part-time County Executive."

The Ethics Committee of the County Council issued a subpoena to find out how many hours the County Executive is working on his outside job. Fitch says it's not the hospital or Page's medical group blocking the release of the records, Page's lawyers are maneuvering to block the release of the records until after the election.  A spokesman for Page released a statement on Fitch's complaint saying--quote: "I don't understand his concern with Dr. Page's occasional work as a doctor."
