ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A United Airlines flight from Dallas to Chicago had to make an unscheduled stop in St. Louis, Sunday morning.

A spokesman with St. Louis Lambert International says at the airline's request, passengers were taken off the plane and a bomb-sniffing dog deployed. The flight landed around 8:40AM and stayed grounded until leaving St. Louis to finish the final hour-fifteen of its route about 1:30PM.

United Airlines says a "potential security concern" was the reason for the stop. Law enforcement personnel searched and cleared the aircraft for the 119 passengers and five crew members to get back in the air.

Neither United nor Lambert officials would comment on if any arrests were made.
