A body has been found lying on the sidewalk near the Shell station on the corner of North Tucker Blvd. and Convention Plaza. KMOX's Kevin Killeen is reporting from the scene.
Killeen reports the body is surrounded by yellow tape with a dozen or more police in the area. Some eyewitnesses say he was shot in the head. Police appear to be searching the ground for shell casings.
This event comes on the heels of four people being killed in a car accident downtown, and just over a week after a reckless driver incident that caused a teen girl to lose her legs. Many St. Louisans are calling for safety improvements in the Downtown neighborhood.
