IMPERIAL, Mo. (KMOX) - A deer was trying to start pool season a little too early in the St. Louis area. Lucky for her, a group of firefighters rescued her from the backyard pool on Monday morning.
The Rock Community Fire Protection District posted video of the rescue as three firefighters worked to rope, nudge and lift a large deer out of the above-ground pool. It happened in the 4800 block of Oxford Lane, just south of St. Louis County.
The deer was so tired from treading water that when firefighters finally helped her out she had no strength left to stand.
"After numerous attempts and our Bambi getting very cold and tired a successful rescue was made," the Facebook post stated.
Although we're expected to hit 80-degrees on Tuesday, it still might be a bit too soon for pool weather in the area.
