Democrat Lucas Kunce announced his candidacy on Friday for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Josh Hawley.
Kunce ran in the 2022 U.S. Senate race hoping to take on Republican Eric Schmitt, though he lost the primary to Trudy Busch Valentine. The 13-year Marine veteran said he chose January 6th to make his announcement in connection with Hawley's involvement in the Capitol riots.
In his campaign announcement video, shared on Twitter, Kunce lobs attacks at Hawley for his infamous run from the Capitol building, and boasts his military service while Hawley "joined one of the most elite corporate law firms."
