It took nearly three hours of discussion time Monday night, but the Des Peres Board of Aldermen approved an amended zoning ordinance for comprehensive marijuana facilities in the city.
It paves the way for dispensaries like Root 66, a future dispensary that just completed a building on Manchester Road and has been working with city planners.
The board ultimately approved a 120-foot buffer from existing homes after rejecting one aldermen's request for a 300-foot buffer.

Nicole Graham spoke in favor of the comprehensive marijuana business ordinance and talked about how the tax revenue is needed in Des Peres and jobs it will create. "Just because you're against something, have any of you wall ever walked into a dispensary to see how it operates? Or spoke to anybody? Or looked at the parking? Before you hate something give it a chance."
