The I-44 sinkhole closure in downtown St. Louis is going to last at least another week.
MoDOT says crews have switched to a different repair method to try to shorten the timeline after original materials weren't readily available, and would have delayed reopening for weeks.
The water main break at Broadway and Biddle exposed a bridge footing.
MoDOT says initial design plans are still being submitted.
Until then, westbound I-44 remains cut off at Tucker Boulevard, eastbound at the Poplar Street Bridge, and South Broadway is closed at Biddle in both directions.
The Eads Bridge remains open.
