This year, the East Alton Ice Arena wanted to do something different to honor veterans -- so they put a call out on social media.
In October, they asked people to send in the names of veterans in their lives. Then, employees painted those names on the ice rink in advance of the games being held at the rink over Veterans Day Weekend.
They received 64 names in total, all painted on the ice, all color coded: Navy blue for Navy veterans, red for Marines, olive green for Army, and sky blue for Air Force. Check out the full video of the names on East Alton Ice Arena's Facebook:
