Eckert’s is the only farm in Illinois to be nominated. It's one of the largest family-owned, pick-your-own orchards in the U.S. with locations in Belleville, IL, Versailles, KY and Millstadt, IL. For a century, Eckert’s has been a local source for agricultural products including asparagus, beets, zucchini, kale, squash, onions and peppers, strawberries, blackberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins, and more.
“It all started with apple trees,” says President of Eckert’s Inc., Chris Eckert. “Since 1837 the Eckert’s family has farmed apples, and we’ve continued to expand those operations to bring guests some of the best apple picking experiences in the Midwest. We’ve prioritized these fun family experiences every fall while expanding operations across Illinois and Kentucky with our Grafton, Millstadt and Versailles farms. It’s an honor to be recognized as a contender for Best Apple Orchard in the United States and we take great pride in knowing that we are a place for memories to be made.”
The winner of the 10Best poll will be announced Sept. 10.
Eckert's did not crack the top-10 in last year's vote.
