A trial set for later this summer will determine whether an Edwardsville High School Assistant Principal accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student will face prison time.

Assistant Principal Erin Hamilton-Foley, who is a 50-year old woman, pleaded not guilty to charges of having sex with a 17-year old male student.

Madison County Prosecutor Tom Haine tells KMOX, "teachers have a special obligation. They have a special authority. We need to make sure that line is bright so that no one feels able to cross it."

Edwardsville Police tell KMOX they haven't received any reports of any other alleged victims.

The trial for Hamilton-Foley was originally scheduled for August 7th, but her defense attorney's are asking for a later date.
