ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Washington University in St. Louis sent multiple emergency alerts to "shelter in place" after an "armed person" was reported on its campus Thursday afternoon. The university gave the "all clear" a little more than an hour later.
At 4:23, an "ALL CLEAR" was posted on the website saying, "The person in question has been located and there is no active threat related to this incident. You may resume normal activity."
A young man with a backpack was seen walking with officers and getting into a police vehicle. There's been no official comment from police.
The alert sent at 3:14 p.m. said to "RUN/HIDE/FIGHT. If hide, lock/barricade yourself in a room until further notice. If off campus, stay away." A second alert said for people to "shelter in place" as campus police is "investigating a report of a person with a gun on the east end of the Danforth Campus."

The campus is located just West of Forest Park, near Big Bend Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway.
