A viral video on TikTok has caused some concern on the internet, and caused the FDA to issue a warning.
The FDA asks that TikTok users not follow a viral video where someone purports to cook chicken in NyQuil, saying, "Boiling a medication can make it much more concentrated and change its properties in other ways."
CNN medical correspondent Elizabeth Cohen said enough people are making NyQuil chicken that it's a cause for concern.
"Inhaling these concentrations could hurt your lungs, you really change the medication by cooking it," she said. "It is a terrible idea. I am here to say unequivocally do not cook your chicken in NyQuil."
The hashtag #sleepychicken had more than 1.3 million related videos on TikTok, though searching the tag now results in a resources page warning users about the dangers of some challenges.
