After devastating floods hit St. Louis, FEMA recently warned Missourians that having homeowner's insurance doesn't typically cover flooding.
"A lot of flood damange happensoutside areas that are considered high-risk flood zones," John Mills, FEMA spokesperson, told KMOX. "FEMA strongly recommends that people consider buying flood insurance."
Mills told KMOX you can look at FEMA maps online to see what risk level your house or business is in for major flooding.
