An 18-year-old from Affton is charged with spray painting two buildings in the Affton School District in the past week with racial slurs, swastikas, and other threatening messages and symbols of hate.
The St. Louis County Prosecutor's office charged Patrick Sloan on Thursday with two counts of property damage motivated by discrimination. He was identified from video footage by a family member and other witnesses. And Sloan reportedly admitted to the family member that he was responsible.
He's being held on a $25,000, cash-only bond.
In a statement, Superintendent Dr. Travis Bracht says the person in custody is a former Affton student and graduate. He thanked the police for their dedication to the investigation.
