EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOX) With a winter storm in the forecast for the weekend and dangerously low temps next week, Gateway Pet Guardians is looking to the community for help.
Gateway Pet Guardians is taking urgent action to protect outdoor pets. The shelter is providing straw and dog houses for pets in need in East St. Louis and surrounding areas.
Executive Director Jill Henke knows of at least a dozen dogs at risk of freezing to death.
The kennel hopes the community will temporarily foster dogs and cats.
Gateway will be open Friday from 10 until 6:00 and Saturday 9 to 2 if you can foster an adult dog. All supplies, food, and necessities will be provided to you.
Gateway Pet Guardians serves East St. Louis and the surrounding areas with resources to keep pets in their homes.
