ST. LOUIS (KMOX)--Funeral services for Officer David Lee III have been announced by the St. Louis City Police Department.
The funeral for Officer Lee will be Saturday, October 5th at 1 P.M. at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Visitation will begin at 10 o'clock that morning til the time of service.
On Sunday, Officer David Lee was picking up traffic cones from an accident at I-70 and Grand when he was struck. He was taken to the hospital where he died. St. Louis City Police say the driver accused of striking the officer is illegal immigrant 24-year-old Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez from Honduras. Charges indicate he was drunk and going 71 miles per hour in a 55-speed limit zone.
44-year-old David Lee is survived by his wife and two children. He served 18 years with the St. Louis City Police Department.
