ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A press conference with St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones was interrupted momentarily by a series of gunshots heard in the area. She was answering questions about public safety when it happened Friday afternoon.

Jones paused for a moment, then before continuing her answer said, "Well, isn't that wonderful."

She sent a tweet Friday afternoon, saying "I don’t flinch when gunshots ring out; my son and I often fall asleep to a lullaby of gunshots."

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is in St. Louis for a two-day tour of the city to help address issues like public safety in both cities. He also joined KMOX Friday morning:
