Dr. Stacy Hollins, Dean of the Anheuser-Busch School of Business, calls the grant a 'difference maker', "It is an investment in the future of our under-resourced students. It is a building block for a stronger, rich community. This is exactly what our university needs to enrich the opportunities of students and communities so they in turn can help lift up St. Louis."

The three-year grant will be administered through HSSU's Minority Entrepreneurship Collaborative Center for Advancement. It will fund education and training on business planning, marketing, and financial management, financial education for minority high school and college students, and minority entrepreneurship focused events.

"According to the STL 2030 jobs report, if black St. Louisans started and owned businesses at the same rate as white St. Louisans, the region would have more than 8,000 additional start ups and over 66,000 more jobs," says Michael Scully, Regional President for St. Louis, PNC, says

HSSU President Dr. LaTonia Collins Smith praised PNC at a news conference Tuesday announcing the grant, saying the outcomes will repay the grant with dividends.
