A charity that helps people find used wheel chairs and other home medical equipment says there's an urgent need for donations.
Karen Lanter is Executive Director of the St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program. She told KMOX that alongside things like hospital beds, they need basics donated.
"We really need wheelchairs, basic wheelchairs. As soon as we get them, they're out the door," she said. "There's a real shortage of this equipment."
She added that some people are forced to wait six months or more sometimes to get the medical equipment they need.
Lanter said the charity also needs bathing equipment and pediatric equipment. All donations are tax deductible, and the organization is having a drop-off drive at ten locations this Saturday from 9 to 2 p.m. For more information you can go to their website: STLHELP.ORG.
