HAZELWOOD (KMOX) - All students and staff in the Hazelwood School District will be required to wear face masks – regardless of vaccination status – when classes begin this fall.
The announcement was made by Superintendent Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart in a message posted on the district's website. In-person classes begin Aug. 23.
The district says it will not offer hybrid or virtual classes this year, but families can choose the state-run Missouri Course Access Program (MOCAP) as a virtual school option.
"As we embark on a new school year, I find comfort knowing that we have the talent, passion, resources, and character to successfully navigate any challenges we may face," Collins-Hart states. "Thank you for your unwavering dedication."
The message says 600 employees and 250 students have been fully vaccinated through the district's Help Hazelwood Get Healthy public health campaign.
