
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Hazelwood teenager will stand trial as an adult in a March 2023 murder of a 14-year-old.
On Thursday, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Clifton Booze, 14, was charged with second degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, first degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and an unclassified felony.
According to a Berkeley Police Department, on March 23, 2023, approximately 15 people, many of them armed with a firearm, walked up to residences on Larry Avenue, where several people from the group fired shots that struck nearby vehicles and homes on the street. One of the bullet struck 14-year-old James Bond.
Surveillance video from nearby residences and businesses captured a portion of the incident and witnesses identified Booze as one of the shooters. Alongside Booze, two other teenagers, both 19-years-old, are also facing the same charges.
Booze was recently certified by the court to stand trial as an adult and is currently being held with a cash-only bond set at $750,000.
Booze faces 10 to 30 years in prison, or life imprisonment for each Class A Felony, five to 15 years for each Class B felony, up to four years in prison for a Class E Felony, and potentially life in prison for a first offense of Armed Criminal Action.
