Represresentative Lakesha Collins made the request to remove the members after 3 days of being maskless. "This body is doing everything we can on this side of the aisle to make sure that the people's work is being done, while you all on the other side of the aisle are making this chamber a clown show."

The Republicans say the time for masking is over, but will have to stay out until they either comply or the rule is changed.

Representative Blaine Wilhour of Effingham was among those expelled. "The people of Illinois are done with it, they're tired of it, it's time that we set an example that sanity is going to make a return in the state of Illinois."

The GOP members were kicked out after 3 days of refusing to adhere to the masking rules. They are being allowed to particpate remotely.
