An intoxicated pilot made an emergency landing on Interstate 70 outside of Kansas City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The single-engine prop plane took off from Warrensburg but only stayed in the air for about 19 minutes before landing on the road around 2:30 on Friday morning.
The pilot was the only passenger on the plane, and he did not sustain any serious injuries. No cars were hit when he landed on I-70.
KMOV reports that the pilot radioed in to say he "ran out of gas." When the highway patrol responded to the scene of the crash, they found the driver intoxicated and carrying drugs.
After the pilot was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, he was arrested.
