Coatar has an area that spans from Downtown to McKinley Heights. In a letter announcing his run, Coatar said, "St. Louis must be able to fix its roads and pick up its trash and recognize that failure to provide basic services continues to fall hardest on Northside neighborhoods." He also mentioned hopes to reduce gun violence, increase walkability and reversing population decline.
Alderwoman Megan Green, whose ward covers Tower Grove East and South, has already announced her candidacy.
