ST. LOUIS (KMOX) An abrupt resignation late Wednesday afternoon from the St. Louis County Police Commissioners Chairman Judge William Ray Price Junior. Price's email to page says, "it as been an honor to serve on the St. Louis County Board of Police Commissioners.

However, I have decided that my service should end. I would like to express my appreciation to my fellow commissioners, and of course, to the fine officers and staff of the St. Louis County Police Department. I wish them the very best. While there is much left to do, the recent Teneo study and the Center for Policing Equity study, along with the previous studies, have laid out a roadmap for making the Department even better.

The various recommendations in these studies should lead to a safer and more equitable community. My resignation is for personal reasons and is effective immediately"

St. Louis County Executive Doctor Sam Page released a statement to KMOX saying, " I appreciate Judge Price's service and commitment to public safety."

Judge Price was appointed by Page in November 2019 and is not the first resignation. Commissioner Dr. L.J. Punch resigned in October after it became public there were undisclosed corporate led meetings between St. Louis City and St. Louis County police officers in Jennings.
