ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner has gotten an official "reprimand" from the Missouri Supreme Court comes as part of a plea bargain that Gardner sought so she could avoid losing her law license for her misconduct during the Eric Greitens sex case.

After months of deliberation, the high court announced its approval of a plea bargain worked out by Gardner's lawyer with a local disciplinary panel in April.

In that proceeding, several allegations against her were dropped, as she admitted only to "making mistakes" and failing to turn over some evidence in a timely manner to the Greitens defense team.

Some of her critics were calling for Gardner to be stripped of her law license, saying she had known her lead investigator in the case lied under oath, but she did nothing to stop him or set the record straight.

The panel ruled that the things she admitted to were done without malice or dishonesty. The high court also ordered Gardner to pay a $750 court fee.

In a statement, Gardner said, "I'm pleased that our state's highest court and disciplinary counsel has recognized that the ethics disciplinary process should not be weaponized for political gain. I look forward to continuing the critical work of creating a safer, fairer, and just St. Louis."

During the spring disciplinary hearing her attorney had said he was working "pro bono."
