ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - In a KMOX exclusive, with the new school year for St. Louis Public Schools starting Monday, the American Federation of Teachers St. Louis Local 420 is signaling no confidence in Superintendent Millicent Borishade.

KMOX has confirmed there is a petition drive underway, which could end up showing no confidence in Borishade. Local 420 spokesman Byron Clemens says "we're following the concerns of our union members, that's what we do and as soon as they've taken any action, we will be public with it."

AFT Local 420 had no say in selecting Borishade as the Superintendent, that was the decision of the previous school board. Clemens tells KMOX "we were a little surprised to see in the in the audit that some of the practices that were a concern under the old regime may have transferred over to the new regime, but we'll find out."

There is no timeline given as to when teachers may take a vote of no confidence in Borishade. As to what happens if there is a no confidence vote, Local 420 will make a public announcement.
