The Missouri Broadcasters Association annual meeting began with the induction of three KMOX alums into the state Hall of Fame and concluded with KMOX news and talk winning awards in multiple categories.
Cardinals baseball broadcaster John Rooney was the host of the Hall of Fame banquet on Friday night. Rooney is now joined in the MBA Hall of Fame by Joe Buck, Ron Jacober, and Jim Jackson.
Buck spent 16 years calling the Cards on radio and television before moving to Fox and, now, ESPN. Jacober was sports director at KMOX and, before that, KSDK-TV. Jackson is one of the best known radio engineers, manning the Cardinals Radio Network booth since 1998.
"These are people who made broadcasting history in Missouri. They've also had an impact well beyond the industry and well beyond our state," MBA President Chad Mahoney said.

On Saturday night, the MBA recognized excellence in Missouri broadcasting. KMOX was honored with the following awards:
Breaking News Coverage — when flash flooding cut off a Metro East town, our reporters, weather and traffic team kept listeners up to date.
Opinion/Commentary Segment — The Chris & Amy Show asked the question "should local police check immigration papers?"
Breaking Weather Coverage — tornado warnings went up at the same time as flash flooding closed highways, so KMOX threw out the clock to give nonstop emergency information.
Hard News Reporting — Maria Keena investigated conditions at a local nursing home to get answers for a worried family.
Feature Reporting — "Eclipse from the Clouds," Michael Calhoun documented the solar eclipse as seen aboard a Southwest Airlines flight.
Best News Anchor — KMOX St. Louis sweeps it all in this category with the top two winners Michael Calhoun and Megan Lynch.
Newscast — a second place certificate of merit for Total Information AM.
