ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — The Greater St. Louis Labor Council is gearing up for a food drive this weekend to benefit local food banks.
It's in conjunction with the Greater St. Louis Boy Scout Council, which had its annual "Scouting for Food" drive changed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Door-to-door donations will not happen this year.
"We’re asking all working union members do their part to help those who are, or will be, in desperate need because of the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic," said St. Louis Labor Council President Pat White and St. Louis Building and Construction Trades Executive Secretary-Treasurer John Stiffler in a joint statement.
You can drop off food at one of five area union halls:
1. St. Louis Labor Council (3301 Hollenberg Dr. Bridgeton, MO 63044)
2. IBEW Local 1 (5850 Elizabeth Ave. St. Louis, Mo. 63110)
3. Laborers Local 110 (4532 S Lindbergh Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63127
4. CWA Local 6300 (2558 Grissom Dr. St. Louis, MO 63146)
5. Tri-County Labor Club (10 Droste Square, St. Charles, MO 63301)
Donations will be accepted Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
