HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) - After receiving numerous complaints about drivers running stop signs in a St. Louis County intersection, police have announced they've installed new LED stop signs.

The news signs were placed in the intersection of Lynn Haven Lane and Town & Country Drive in Hazelwood.

"The Hazelwood Police Department receives complaints often in regards to speeding vehicles and stop sign violations on Lynn Haven Lane between Howdershell Road and Lindbergh Boulevard," police stated in a Facebook post.

Police say they will still have officers assigned to monitor the area and enforce traffic laws, but hope these new, brighter signs will calm some of the traffic problems in the area.

The signs were paid for with a grant from MoDOT Blueprint Coalition. Police also say there are blinders on the signs to prevent the lights from bothering nearby residents.
