Man arrested for triple homicide of mother, young daughters in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police say they've made an arrest of the man wanted for the murder of a mother and her two young daughters in St. Louis.

On Friday morning, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced they had arrested Ronald Marr, 34, for the killing of 30-year-old Kanisha Hemphill and her daughters, 8-year-old Journey Walker, and 1-year-old Jakari Walker. They were found dead inside their home on Thursday.


Marr was arrested in Effingham, Ill., police says and a source tells KMOX that he was arrested on a Greyhound bus.

Marr is the former boyfriend of Hemphill is charged with three counts of both first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He's being held without bond while awaiting extradition to Missouri.

"There's a lot of disturbing evidence inside," police chief John Hayden said on Thursday at the crime scene. "It was very disturbing. I'm sure it was traumatic for the officers who went in."

Police were called to the scene for a report of shots fired around 7 a.m. and found the three victims inside the home.
