A Pine Lawn resident has plead guilty to shooting a Maryland Heights Police officer in 2019. Menius Ellis, who was 17 at the the time, had been accused of shooting and injuring Officer Cliff House.

Another officer, Kevin Devine, caught Ellis trying to break into cars in the parking lot of the Pavilion Apartments on Summerhouse Drive around four o'clock in the morning. That's when Ellis shot Officer House in the leg and groin. He ran away was caught by another officer.

Ellis also admitted stealing a purse from a car with $50 in it and firing at Devine. His sentencing is set for July 18.

Correction: KMOX's story originally said Officer Devine was the one who was shot and injured. Officer Cliff House was the one who Ellis shot in the leg and groin.
