ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A suspect is now in custody, more than a year after a body was found burned in St. Louis, police say.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office issued at-large warrants against Brandon Taylor, 34, of north St. Louis. He's wanted for first-degree murder, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse.

He's in federal custody on unrelated charges, police announced Thursday morning.

Police were called to the 5900 block of Emma Avenue and found a body in an ally on June 28, 2020. The body of Antirrill Johnson, 47, was found. Homicide, and bomb and arson units were called in to investigate.

Investigators later released details alleging Taylor shot Johnson multiple times, then put Johnson's body into his car, drove to the location the body later was found at, and lit the body on fire. Surveillance video shows Taylor's car near the scene and Johnson's blood was found in Taylor's car, according to police.
