The St. Louis County man who told a jury he murdered his pregnant wife in a "red haze of rage" will spend the rest of his life in prison.

That was made official late this morning when Beau Rothwell was sentenced in St. Louis County Circuit Court. The life sentence stems from his conviction on a first degree murder charge. He was also sentenced to four years in prison each for evidence tampering and abandoning his wife's corpse. The sentences will run concurrently.
Rothwell was found guilty in April in the November 2019 death of 28 year old Jennifer. He told the jury he didn't mean to kill her, but hit her twice with a mallet while they argued about his extramarital affair. He used bleach and other materials to try to clean up the crime scene in their home and dumped her naked body near Troy, Missouri.
