ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Matthew McCulloch, the police officer who allegedly fired his gun at a trunk-or-treat is no longer employed by the St. Louis County Police Department.

A spokesperson for the St. Louis County Police confirmed to KMOX McCulloch, who was with the department since Dec. 2017, was no longer employed by the department as of Oct. 19.

McCulloch was charged with five counts of armed criminal action, four counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count each of unlawful use of a weapon and first-degree terrorist threat stemming from a incident at a trunk-or-treat event at North Kirkwood Middle School last week.

According to Kirkwood Police Department, McCulloch, who was attending the event, was causing a disturbance.

McCulloch then allegedly displayed a handgun and fired multiple shots into the air, after being confronted by other attendees regarding his behavior.

McCulloch was tackled by attendees and taken into custody by Kirkwood officers. No one was luckily hurt from the incident.

McCulloch is the son St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch and nephew of St. Charles County Prosecutor Joe McCulloch.

McCulloch is currently being held on a $500,000 cash-only-bond and is set to make his next court appearance on Tuesday for a bond hearing.
