McBride Homes is in an agreement with the Port Authority to redevelop the old Jamestown Mall site.
St. Louis County Executive Sam Page says the mixed use development with residential and light retail is consistent with what citizens want.
"I think it's a good start. It will take some time to build that out but all the work we put into that 4 years ago, using ARPA funds to demolish Jamestown Mall to get the site cleared has moved us a long way to bringing that property back to productive use,"
Page says KMOX asked Page if all the remediation is complete, he said yes, but, "Unless, when you turn the dirt and you find something else - there's always that possibility."
Page did not give a time frame on when McBride and Sons may break ground.
