ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced Monday he was launching a investigation into Media Matters for America.

Bailey wrote in his letter to them he believed the progressive website "used fraud to solicit donations from Missourians in order to trick advertisers into pulling out of X, the last platform dedicated to free speech in America."

In November, Media Matter released a report about harmful anti-Semitic content on X, formerly known as Twitter. They said that X, under Elon Musk's leadership, is placing advertising next to anti-Semitic content.

The report also put attention to several controversial posts Musk has made on the platform over the last few weeks, leading to companies like Disney, Paramount, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, and Universal, to stop advertising on the platform.

Bailey joined Total Information A.M. Thursday to discuss Monday news he was investigating Media Matters for possible fraud.
