ST. LOUIS - Missouri Gov. Mike Parson made a visit to Fort Zumwalt East High School where he learned about the school's Zumwalt Apprenticeships program and also conducting a ceremonial bill signing.
Parson made a visit to the school Wednesday where he met with various school staff behind the apprenticeship program and three students who are participating in the program.
Through the program, students are able to experience a minimum hours of 2,000 hours of on-the-job training while also earning a competitive wage, credit through St. Charles Community College and, upon completion of the program, an apprenticeship certification.
Gov. Parson also met with social studies students in the auditorium where they joined him on stage for the ceremonial bill signing.
Students interested in applying for the program need to enroll and complete one of the many Career Technical Education (CTE) Apprenticeship Courses Fort Zumwalt offers in Industrial Tech, Business, FACS, Computer Science, etc.
