Missouri, St. Louis leaders send condolences to Kansas City following Super Bowl Parade Shooting

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Wednesday marked a dark day for residents in Kansas City as a shooting following the Super Bowl Parade celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs fourth Super Bowl led to the death of one woman, a local Radio D.J. and 21 injured.

Three suspects have been arrested in regards to the incident, with no information of them yet to be released by Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.


Many St. Louis and Missouri Leaders have showed their support for the residents of Kansas City, sending out condolences to the residents.

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones was among the first to send condolences out to the residents of Kansas City in a post on her X, formerly known as Twitter.

Missouri U.S. Rep. Cori Bush posted on her X account her condolences, along with blaming the 'NRA-Funded GOP' for why the state of Missouri has what she claims is 'some of the weakest gun safety laws in the US'

Former Missouri U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill posted a series of posts on X, including sending condolences to the parents whose children suffered injuries from the incident, with reports of 8 children at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City Wednesday. Luckily, all eight are expected to recover.

Missouri U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R) also sent condolences to the residents of Kansas City, while also thanking Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department for their quick and swift action.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, who attended the parade alongside First Lady Teresa Parson, were safe and secure in a post sent by Parson's team on X. Parson's team thanked KCPD and Parson's security team and the Missouri Highway Patrol for 'their quick and professional actions' in keeping both safe.

The St. Louis Cardinals released a statement Thursday, saying "Cardinals Nation stands with Chiefs Kingdom and all those were sadly impacted by this senseless violence."
