ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-- In a 62-page report released late Monday night, Attorney General Andrew Bailey laid out alleged problems of former St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner's time in office, from failing to manage and properly train staff to her lack of accountability under the law while pursuing an advanced nursing degree while still holding the Office of the Circuit Attorney.

It begins with the lawsuit Bailey filed against Gardner after a young volleyball player lost her legs when she was hit by a car. The driver was supposed to go to trial for a robbery case months before but did not under Gardner's watch.

Bailey points to Gardner's partnership with the Vera Institute of Justice as a main concern. “We’ve uncovered a frightening pattern," Bailey told 97.1 FM. "We're calling on Congress to eliminate Federal funding for this radical left-wing organization that is Vera Institute.”

"It is the hope," the conclusion of the Bailey's report says, "that the investigation, litigation, observations, and recommendations summarized in this report will help the people of St. Louis and the State of Missouri understand the profound and willful failures of the former Circuit Attorney, Kimberly Gardner, and that such understanding will aid in preventing such a ruinous situation from arising again in the future."

KMOX's legal expert Brad Young reacted to the attorney general's 62 page report about Gardner, with Young biggest takeaway from the report being that nothing in it could stop Gardner from running for office again.
