The first suspected case of monkeypox is announced in St. Louis County, the fourth case in Missouri. County Health spokesman Christopher Ave said not to let all the talk about monkeypox cause a panic.
"Monkeypox is not COVID, it its not nearly as transmissible," Ave said. In other words, it's much harder to catch -- and it's not nearly as lethal."
He said the man has not been hospitalized, and is isolating at home. Those who have prolonged, close contact with a patient are the only ones being recommended for vaccinations.
