ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The next time you head to CITYPARK for a soccer match, you'll actually be heading to City Commons.
The district around the CITYPARK soccer stadium, or the east side of the Locust Business District is getting a new name, being called the City Commons. That area has seen a billion dollars in development in the last few years.
Jassen Johnson of Onyx Development helped spearhead the effort, getting buy-in from all the developers and the city on it.
"We'll starting to put the logos and verbage on all the buildings and our marking materials," said Johnson. "Ultimately, the website one of the most important things because it drives people to one spot to help understand what this community is really about."
Johnson's company also developed much of Locust west of Jefferson and says renaming it Midtown Alley was hugely important to establishing it as a place for creative agencies and other businesses.
