SULLIVAN, MO (KMOX)--Betty Alexander, 69, disappeared without a trace from Sullivan in April of 2019. A neighbor saw her gardening in the afternoon of the 10th, and she took her 7 p.m. dose of medicine that night. However, the medicine she was supposed to take the following morning remained untouched.

"We would do anything to get answers, of where she is, of what happened to her," said Betty's daughter Tonya Miller.

The day she went missing, Betty's glasses were found on the recliner. Her purse, containing her wallet, cash, and ID, was in a closet. Her keys were still in the apartment, too. The only item that appeared to be missing was a box of prescribed fentanyl patches for back pain.

"Since there haven't been really many tips or leads that have come in, we really had a lot to work with," Tonya said.

Tonya has been trying to get her mother's picture on a billboard in Sullivan for some time, but the number of open boards was few and far between. After the installation of a new digital billboard in Sullivan, she secured a spot in the rotation to promote the $20,000 reward for information that leads to finding Betty. The reward money comes from friends and family.

"We did actually have somebody contact us with a tip that is being followed up on," Tonya said. "A search is going to be conducted in the next two to three weeks."

The new lead has prompted police to execute a new search with cadaver dogs. The location remains undisclosed to the public.
