New life for the Loop Trolley

Before Friday morning's near unanimous vote, Roach argued that if the region had to pay back the $22 million federal grant for the trolley, it would jeopardize future grants for the entire region. "Avoiding a federal default is key to the future, not just of transit in the region, both in Missouri and Illinois, but also for Bi-State Development."

What will it will cost the agency? Roach says "no Bi-State dollars will be used to run the Loop Trolley." He adds, if the trolley runs out of money it will stop operating.

Under the plan, which is for three-years, the trolley would operate four days a week.
