Troy, Mo. (KMOX) - The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a Saturday night crash that killed an off-duty Lincoln County sheriff's deputy.
Authorities say deputy Steven Tucker was riding his motorcycle on Highway J around 7:30 pm when a vehicle suddenly crossed the center line and hit Tucker's bike head-on. He died at the scene.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office issued a statement, saying Tucker embodied a spirit of service, honor and selflessness.
He had just joined the department this year and was assigned to the Court Services Bureau.
